Cushing Middle School’s girls basketball teams roared out of the gate last weekend in the Kellyville Tournament. The Lady Tiger teams were a combined 5-1 in their first games of the 2008-9 season. The eighth-grade club (pictured) was 3-0 in the festival with victories over Bristow, Lonestar and Kellyville. The victory over Lonestar reportedly was the Tigers’ first in more than 20 years.The seventh-grade Lady Tigers beat sandwiched victories over Bristow and Kellyville around a loss to Lonestar. Both teams are coached by LaTrisha Boyles.
