The filing period is Dec. 1-3 for candidates for one of two seats on the Cushing Public Schools Board of Education.
Seats 3 and 4 will become vacant in 2009, according to Linda Davis of the CPS administrative staff. The positions currently are filled by Trudy Evans and Mick Evans.
Trudy Evans was appointed to fill Seat 3 and now faces election for the remaining four years of the term. Mick Evans won a special election in 2007 to complete an unexpired term in Seat 4.
Both Evanses have indicated they will seek election, Davis said. Each will be vying for a full, five-year term.
Filing is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the offices of the Payne County Election Board, 315 W. Sixth Ave., Stillwater. The annual school board election will be Feb. 10, 2009 with a potential run-off election April 7, 2009.
