Dr. Guy Patrick “Pat” Belford passed away peacefully at his home in Oklahoma City on February 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Pat was born on October 1, 1948, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Colleen and Guy Belford. He spent his growing- up years in Broken Arrow and graduated from Broken Arrow High School. During his senior year, he proudly served as captain of the football team when they won their conference and advanced to the State playoffs—an achievement he always remembered with gratitude and pride.
Pat attended Oklahoma State University, where he met the love of his life, Cindy Gilbert. They were married on December 21, 1969, in Tulsa, beginning a beautiful marriage that would span 56 years. He graduated from the Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1972 and soon opened Doctor’s Small Animal Hospital in Broken Arrow.
Pat’s love of learning, his passion for practicing medicine, and his deep care for people stirred in him a new calling. Over the course of his distinguished career, Pat practiced family medicine and emergency medicine in Mangum, Cushing, and the Grand Lake area, faithfully serving countless patients with skill and compassion.
Pat believed deeply in caring for both body and spirit. In 2011, following God’s leading and with the support of Langley First Baptist Church and many dedicated volunteers, he founded Bethesda Free Clinic to serve uninsured individuals in need of medical care. The clinic continues to bless the community to this day—an enduring testament to Pat’s servant heart and unwavering faith. He ministered God’s love to each patient he had the honor of helping, seeing medicine not just as a profession, but as a calling.
Pat retired in 2019. He and Cindy cherished several joyful years of lake life before returning to their hometown of Broken Arrow. Retirement never slowed his love for family, faith, and fellowship.
