Nancy Fay Peyton

Nancy Fay Peyton, known lovingly to her family and friends as Fay, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026, in Harrah, Oklahoma. She was born on August 19, 1942, in Indianapolis, Indiana, and lived a life beautifully defined by kindness, faith, and a quiet selfless love for others.

Fay was a deeply devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Her family was truly the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

She is survived by her daughters, Rosie and her husband Jimmy Stokes, son-in-law Terry Lee Herrmann, Kim and her husband Curtis Walters, Denise Taylor and her spouse Dennis Haliburton; her son, Jeff and his wife Dr. Tara Peyton, as well as 16 grandchildren and 22 greatgrandchildren who brought her endless joy. She is also survived by her sisters, Linda Abell and Gail and her husband Fred Johnson, and numerous nieces and nephews she cherished.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Terri Ann Herrmann, who she held close in her heart always, former husband Marshall Peyton; her sister, Dona Reed; and her parents, Tilden “Tony” and Josephine “Jo” Ratliff. Fay found her greatest happiness in life’s simplest moments—being surrounded by those she loved, sharing laughter, and creating memories that will live on in the hearts of her family.

She had a special way of making others feel seen and cared for, whether by remembering a birthday, offering a kind word, or simply being present. Her warmth, gentle spirit, and unwavering love touched everyone who knew her. Her legacy is one of enduring love, faith, and compassion. Though she will be deeply missed, the example she set and the love she gave will continue to guide her family for generations to come. Her memory will forever be cherished and carried in the hearts of those who loved her. Services were held at Tri County Church of Christ, 1802 E Main, Cushing, OK 74023 on Saturday, May 2, 2026.
