Charles “Chuck” aka “Grape Seed” Harmon was born on October 15, 1943, to Paul and Opal (Gibson) Harmon in Drumright, Oklahoma. He departed this life on August 1, 2026, at the age of 82 years.
Grape Seed, name credited to Coach O’Dell, was raised in Cushing. He wrestled for Cushing and was captain his senior year. He graduated from Cushing High School with the Class of 1961. He then attended Central State University and Oklahoma State University; after two years of college he joined the United States Army Reserve in the Spring of 63 and was active until July of 1968.
After meeting in the parking lot of the Dairy Hut in 1963, Chuck was united in marriage to Marsha Brock on July 10, 1965, in Cushing. The couple just celebrated their 61st anniversary. To this union one daughter, Charla, was born.
Chuck enjoyed motorcross and built three motorcross tracks located in Cushing, Stillwater and Tulsa; he owned and operated Strictly Dirt Motorcycle Shop in Broken Arrow; he loved riding his Harley and enjoyed seven trips to Sturgess with his buddies; he enjoyed golfing and was an avid OU Sooners sports fan. Chuck loved life and his three girls, Marsha, Charla and Carley.
Survivors include his wife, Marsha, of the home; daughter, Charla Burns & Jeff Plunkett of Cushing; granddaughter, Carley Hale and husband, Warren, of Cushing; sister, Ramona Brown of Cushing; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends that were like family. In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his brother, Chet Harmon, Brother-In-Law, Ron Brown, Son-In-Law, Ronnie Burns, Sister-In-Law, Kay Cobb and in-laws, Roy and Juanita Brock.
A celebration of life will be held in the fall.
