Lee Roy Wiggs was born November 6, 1933, to Jess and Carrie (Cooper) Wiggs in Dalton, Arkansas. He departed this life on March 13, 2025, at the age of 91 years.
Lee Roy was raised in Ripley, Oklahoma, graduating from Ripley High School. He then joined and served in the United States Army, being honorably discharged on June 26th, 1961.
He was united in marriage to Dorotha Fondren on December 24, 1953, in Cushing. To this union four children, David, James, Donald and Rebecca, were born. Lee Roy and Dorotha lived in South Ripley until 1971 when they moved to Colorado; they resided there until moving to Eufaula in 1999. Dorotha preceded him in death on February 15, 2019.
Lee Roy had worked as superintendent for two large construction companies while living in Colorado. He was known for his carpentry and welding; anything you needed done, he could do.
Lee Roy attended the Saltcity Cowboy Church in South Hutchison, Kansas. He had a passion for nature and loved sharing and teaching with his family. He would take his kids and grandkids to the mountains to camp, fish and watch the elk and deer. He loved living on Lake Eufaula where he could fish and watch the hummingbirds & cardinals. He also had a passion for gardening, he loved vinca flowers. He was a loving, caring, husband and father, grandfather & uncle; he never knew a stranger.
Survivors include two children, James Wiggs and wife, Sharon, of Marshall, Arkansas and Rebecca “Becky” Clark and husband, Mitchell, of Hutchison, Kansas; sister, Lucille Peterman of Cushing; brother, Richard Wiggs and wife, Fern, of Dover, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandson; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, Lee Roy was preceded in death by two sons, Donald Gene Wiggs and David Leroy Wiggs and brother, Tommy Wiggs.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Friday, March 21, 2025, in the Chapel of the Matherly Davis Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.
