Louis Blake was born on March 14,1932 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He and his family moved to Wetumka in 1933 during the height of the depression. He lived in a few other towns throughout Oklahoma including Seminole, Oklahoma City and Yale before settling in the Norfolk area at the age of seven. He graduated from Norfolk High School in 1950.
