Lonnie Marvin Hagler, a longtime Cushing, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Friday, April 9, 2021 at the age of 76.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 17, 2021 at First Baptist Church North, Cushing, Oklahoma. Rev. Cliff ord Tucker will officiate and Laura Lu Pierson will be reading the remarks. Interment will follow at Silver Star Cemetery, Cushing, Oklahoma.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.
The son of the late James Hagler and Mary (Joseph) Hagler, Lonnie was born on July 27, 1944 in Beggs, Oklahoma. At a young age, Lonnie moved to Cushing with his family where he was reared and educated.
As an adult, he entered the U.S. Army serving his country proudly. After coming back from the service, he began working for Payne County as a heavy equipment operator, retiring after many years of service. Lonnie was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church North, where he was a Deacon and Usher for many years. He loved the Lord and his church family. Lonnie enjoyed helping others, would give away the shirt off his back. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his sister Katherine Shinault of Cushing, stepdaughter Janice Manuel of Drumright, niece Patricia Hagler, numerous other nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, three brothers and three nieces.
