Frederick Grant Eberhart Sr. • December 8, 1936 - April 28, 2021

Frederick (Fred) Grant Eberhart Sr. was born December 8, 1936 to William Grant and Ora “Marie” (Miller) Eberhart in Perkins, Oklahoma. He departed this life April 28, 2021 at the age of 84.

He graduated from Ripley High School. He then served his country in the United States Army. He was in the 35th Tank Batallion, 3rd Armor Division. He drove a tank in Germany during peace time. On September 4, 1959 Fred Eberhart and Dorothy “Eileen” Dawes were united in marriage. They enjoyed over 61 years of marriage together. From this union were born three children, Connie, Freddie and Doug.

Fred was a faithful member of the Council Valley Advent Christian Church. Where he served as a member of the Trustee board. He enjoyed ranching and farming, specifically he enjoyed riding on a tractor. He was known as a hard worker who was always there for his family and always had a story or a joke to tell. To many he was known as Big Fred or Boss Hog. He and Eileen enjoyed traveling to their army buddy reunions over the years.

Fred was a member of many organizations throughout his life. He was a longtime member of Farm Buerau. He had served on the Yale School Board, the FSA County Committee and the Payne County Conservation District Board for over 16 years. He was recognized by many boards for his outstanding service.

He is survived by his wife, Eileen Eberhart; one daughter, Connie Greb and husband Curtis; one son, Doug Eberhart and wife Lori; daughter in-law Linda Eberhart; three sisters, Margaret Chastain, Dixie Dooley and June Hanson; six grandchildren, Brandi Raines and husband Colby, Jody Loterbauer and husband Mike, Jamie Davis and husband Jake, Lauren Sanders and husband Jacob, Jennifer Creech and husband Ben, Robert Ellis and wife Gail; a special nephew, Kevin Eberhart and wife Belinda; and many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Freddie Eberhart, four brothers, Gene, Martin, Billy, and Tony Eberhart.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Council Valley Advent Christian Church, 20208 E. 44th St., Yale, Oklahoma 74085, or to Karman Legacy Hospice 1311 S. Western Stillwater, OK 74074. Visitation will be Sunday, May 2, 2001 from 2pm-5pm at the Matherly-Davis Funeral Home. Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00AM, Monday, May 3,

2021 at Fairlawn Cemetery in Cushing, OK with Pastor Steve Tiger officiating. Services are under the direction of Matherly-Davis Funeral Home.
