Gary Dale Adkins, a spirited soul whose love for life was as infectious as his warm, friendly smile, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, in his home in Oklahoma. Born on April 22, 1943, in Delaware County Pennsylvania, Gary’s journey was one marked by joy, music, and an unwavering dedication to family and friends. His departure has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those he loved and the community he so cherished.
Gary’s professional life was as vibrant as his personality. In the early 90s, he launched Gary’s Motor Company, a used car dealership that not only showcased his keen eye for quality vehicles but also his genuine love for connecting with people. He poured his heart into the business until his retirement in the mid to late 2000s, always ensuring that everyone who crossed paths with him left with a brighter day.
But it was outside the office where Gary’s soul truly danced. With a love for music that knew no bounds, he spent hours meticulously recording his favorite songs onto cassette tapes, always in search of the perfect rendition. His passion for fishing matched the intensity of his musical pursuits. From throw lines to noodling, Gary was a local legend, often gracing the newspaper with his latest monstrous catch in his younger days.
Yet, even with these passions, nothing could surpass the love and care he had for his beloved wife Delorice Adkins, his grandchildren Ryan Vier, Derek Coe, and Jonathan Adkins, and his greatgrandchildren Ryker Vier and Leah Vier. Gary’s love for his family and friends was the true compass of his life, guiding him through every joyous occasion and solemn moment with loving grace.
Described as loving at his core, Gary’s legacy is one of joy, connection, and the simple happiness of a life well lived. His departure is mourned, his memory celebrated, and his vivacious spirit will forever resonate in the stories shared by those who had the privilege to know him.
