Lyle Eugene Morris was born January 26, 1936 to T.A. and Johnnie (Addington) Morris in Cushing, Oklahoma. He departed this life June 28, 2021 at the age of 85 years.
He was a graduate of Cushing High School class of 1953. He served his country in the United States Army. He worked in the oil and gas industry starting at Midland and Hudson refi nery and retired from Conoco/Phillips in Ponca City.
On February 3, 1976 Lyle Eugene Morris and Barbara Ann Wright were united in marriage. They enjoyed thirty-one years together before her passing May 1, 2007.
He enjoyed fi shing, watching Thunder basketball and bird watching. He absolutely loved his dogs as members of his family. Lyle loved talking and keeping up with his friends. He was unique in when you became his friend it was a lifelong commitment. He kept up with friends from grade school, high school and the military. He was known by all his children’s friends as “Daddy”. He was truly one of a kind and loved by all.
He is survived by five children, Leslie Larson and husband Michael, Christie Plunkett, Whitney Johnson and husband Jeff , Steven Bargar, Michele White and husband Sammy; eight grandchildren, Aaron Mathis, Ryan Mathis, Norah McNeil, Chelsea Plunkett, Audrey Johnson, Brian Johnson, Cody Morrow and Shelby Gardner; six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother Hershell, and one sister, Wilma Allen.
