The family of Dr. Mars Baldoza Gonzaga, MD shares the news that Mars passed away on the afternoon of his 85th birthday on Thursday, July 16th, 2020 following complications from chronic kidney disease. We are now able to gather together for a proper memorial service that has been long overdue because of COVID restrictions.
A loving son, brother, husband, father, Lolo (grandfather) and friend, Dr. Gonzaga will be forever remembered and sorely missed by many. In 1969, he emigrated from the Philippines to the United States with his wife to build their American dream. A long-time resident with his wife, Mila Gonzaga, they proudly raised their three children in Cushing, Oklahoma. For a great portion of his professional life, he was a general surgeon and family doctor in Drumright, Oklahoma.
Mars adored his wife of 56 years, Mila Elazegui Gonzaga, until her passing in January 2019; He is survived by one son Marc Gonzaga of Edmond, OK; two daughters, Michelle Wear and husband, Chris, and Marsha Johnson and husband, Brad of Chandler, AZ. His six grandchildren Bryson, Finley, Marli, Parker, Bradshaw and Brielle will fondly remember their Lolo. Mars is also survived by countless other family and friends.
To honor Mars, his three children Marc, Michelle and Marsha welcome you to the memorial service with an onsite reception to follow. Before his passing, Dr. Gonzaga wrote his life story that the family looks forward to sharing with guests. The memorial service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, August 7th, 2021 in the Casady School Chapel, St. Edward the Confessor located at 9500 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73120.
