Virginia Lee Corter

March 19, 1939 - September 25, 2021

Virginia Lee Corter, age 82 of Parkland, Oklahoma, passed away on September 25th, 2021 at her home in Parkland, Oklahoma.

Virginia was born March 19, 1939 in San Juan, Texas to Gilbert Hall and Ara Leola (Dobbs) Hall. She was the third child of five children, 3 girls and 2 boys, Betty, Wanda, Virginia, Dwayne, and Lawson.

Virginia was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of The Firstborn, on June 22, 1953 by Brother Bill Dobbs, in Oklahoma City.

Virginia met Eddie Roberts at the church when it was located on Pennsylvania Street in Oklahoma City. They were married on November 20, 1953 in her parent’s home in Oklahoma City. When Virginia was 15 her first child, Gary Dale, was born August 20, 1954.

Eddie became ill and after a long illness, passed away on September 8, 1957. He was 23 years old; Virginia was 18 and Gary was 3 years old.

Virginia made her home in Oklahoma City and Gary attended school there.

After five years she met and married Carl Herrmann on March 18, 1962. He had two children, Nicky and Deborah. Carl and Virginia made their home in the Parkland area.

On August 28th of 1963, Carl Randall was born at the old Herrmann homeplace, 4 miles south of Agra on Highway 18.

On March 9th 1971 Rodney Glenn was born north of Agra, when Virginia and Carl lived on a dairy farm. When Rodney was 3 years old, they sold out of the dairy business and moved to Parkland on a small acreage.

On November 23rd 1973, Nicky died in a car accident south of Agra.

On December 17th 1976 Christy Dawn was born, the baby girl Virginia had always wanted, after three boys!

Carl passed away September 15, 1994. Leaving Virginia, his wife of 32 years and Christy of the home.

After remaining a widow for 9 years, on May 3, 2003, she married Melfouse Corter; whom she had known for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents Gilbert and Ara Hall; Husbands, Eddie Roberts and Carl Herrmann; 3 sons Nicky Herrmann, Tom and Tim Corter; 1 daughter Rosemary Corter. 2 sisters Wanda Freeman and Betty Solomon; 2 brothers Dwayne and Lawson Hall; sister-in-law Louise Hall.

Survivors include her loving husband Melfouse Corter; 5 children, Gary and wife Nancy Roberts of Tryon, OK; Deborah and husband Mike Reeves of Meeker, OK; Randall Herrmann and companion Matilda of Ripley, OK; Rodney and wife Christina Herrmann of Agra, OK; Christy and husband Shannon Kessler of Agra, OK; daughter Margaret and Husband Tim Arden of Midwest City, OK; daughter Sandra and husband Monte Moss of Vici, OK; son Charles and wife Tina Corter of Choctaw, OK; Sisters in law Donna Hall and Velma Huckabay; also 16 Grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren and many loving relatives, family, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, Septem ber 29, 2021 at Parkland Church of the Firstborn, Parkland, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Parkland Cemetery, Parkland, Oklahoma
