Tracy Paul Nicholas • October 25,1962 - October 19, 2021

Tracy Paul Nicholas, 58 passed from this life 10-19- 2021 peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

Tracy was born on October 25,1962 to Teddy and Jeannie Nicholas in Cushing where he lived his entire life. He attended Cushing schools through his graduation in 1981. Tracy met Kristi Hixson the summer of 1983 and they married in February 1987, together they created a beautiful family having two boys Dylan and Dalton, then in 2002 God blessed them with their daughter Krystan. Tracy was an avid lover of sports, he participated in several sports until his kids were old enough he could start coaching them. He coached basketball, baseball, and helped with soccer. Tracy was very proud of his three kids not just for their sports teams, academic teams, dance teams but he was also proud of the young adults they have become. Spending time with his family was most important to him and when he had the best time.

Tracy was a huge OU Sooners fan, he and his mother-in-law Eula would have spirited debates over the OU/OSU games. He was also a big supporter in Cushing school sports attending football games with his good friend Bob (before his passing) then with Kristi. He especially enjoyed watching Jayse (his niece) in her softball and basketball games as well as Brant (his nephew) in his football and baseball games.

Tracy always tried to be a positive infl uence to his children and their peers.

Tracy started his career for Locke Supply at the age of 19. When Locke left town, Tracy went to work for Cliff ord Buckles at Buckles Electric, where he became an excellent electrician for almost 25 years. He would drive up and down the streets of Cushing pointing out homes in which he had the privilege of working. He always wanted to his best job for the customer from taking off his shoes when going in to someone’s home to insuring the screws in a switch plate were both straight up and down. He took great pride in his work.

In 2011 Tracy began working for the City of Cushing as the City Electrical Code Inspector. Within the fi rst month of his new job he got good and acclimated when Cushing experienced the ice storm of 2011. In 2015 he started taking on property maintenance, not a popular job but one he excelled in because Tracy truly loved this city. For him it wasn’t just about making people cut their lawn or clean up their yards, it was about making Cushing look like a place people want to live, raise their kids, and even retire. He would often load up his own mower and weed eater and take his youngest son to cut and or clean up the yards of our local elderly folks who could not do it for themselves.

Tracy and his family are members of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Attending Rick’s Sunday school class was something he always looked forward to. Tracy knew Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, something he always shared with his kids. He was never ashamed to share the Gospel.

Tracy is proceeded in death by his Dad Teddy, Garnett “Bitty Grandma” Taylor, Grandpa Gene Taylor, Grandpa Paul Nicholas, and Bonus Dad Jim Gwin.
