February 25, 1946 - October 28, 2021
Ralph Edward Jewell passed away suddenly on October 28, 2021. He was seventy-five years old.
He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, February 25, 1946, to Ross and Mary Margaret Jewell near his maternal grandfather’s peach and apple orchards in Amberly Village, now a suburb of Cincinnati. Ralph graduated from Bird City, (KS) High School, played football for Baker University, and received his DVM from Kansas State University. He was married and divorced three times before deciding to forgo any further marital pursuits.
Ralph practiced small animal veterinary medicine in Rhode Island and New Jersey with other vets, ultimately opening a solo practice in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma in the 1970’s. After the city of Broken Arrow asked his family to please move their seventeen dogs and cats out of the center of town, he helped his second wife, Tracy, open a boarding kennel on the outskirts, where the business continues to thrive today.
He is survived by his two adopted sons, Nathan and Bennett, their mother Tracy; and his older brother, David.
A memorial service is scheduled at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 20 at First Christian Church, 300 Moses St., Cushing, OK., Rev. Jim Wilhelm presiding.
