S h e l b y Dwayne Jester, 88, long time resident of Cushing, entered into Heaven’s gate on Saturday, January 29, 2022, with family by his side. He was born on April 16, 1933, in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma to parents Retus and Nellie Jester.
Shelby married Helen Todd in October 1952. They moved to California, and he entered the United States Army. Shelby and Helen were happily married for 69 years living in California for 42 years and then moving to the Cushing area.
Shelby worked at Hughes Aircraft in California as a Master Machinist making tools and dies for nearly 30 years. He genuinely enjoyed his work and received numerous awards, being promoted to Supervisor.
He was a quiet person. Shelby loved fishing, camping and cooking for his family. His loving hands put bows in his little girl hair and helped his little boy learn to fish. He was a loving Husband, Dad and Grandpa. Shelby loved spending time with family and friends and telling stories.
Shelby is survived by His daughter Rita K D’Ambra and husband Ralph, Son Donnie Jester and wife Cindy, granddaughter Kim D’Ambra, grandson Phillip D’Ambra, great grandchildren Tyler D’Ambra, Tiffani Peck, Ava D’Ambra and Luca D’Ambra. Great, great grandson Bentley Peck; Brother Shirley Jester.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen; 4 brothers; and a great-grandson Austin D’Ambra.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on February 5, 2022, at Flynn Cemetery in Cushing, Oklahoma. The family appreciates your prayers during this difficult time.
