Norman Junior Harmon • November 2, 1939 - February 22, 2022

Norman Junior Harmon was born November 2, 1939, to Amos and Ila Pearl Harmon in Cushing, Oklahoma. He departed this life February 22, 2022, at the age of 82.

He attended Cushing Public Schools. He served in the United States Air Force in the Vietnam War. During his time in the service, he earned several medals. He was apart of the 1198th Squadron which included working with the CIA in the Ton Say Nay Prison Raid in Vietnam. On February 1, 1965, Norman Harmon, and Shirley Ilene Davis married in Austin Texas. Norman had 5 children – Terrie, Betsy, Carl, Brenda, and Larry. They enjoyed forty-nine years together before her passing December 7, 2014.

Norman owned a car lot upon retiring. He enjoyed rebuilding steering wheels, going to swap meets exchanging them. He was known as “the steering wheel man in Oklahoma” as he had several hundred wheels. He also enjoyed gardening and his puppy “Maggie”. He was also a family man and enjoyed spending time with his grand and great grandchildren as well as his dear friend Marlene Tillman.

He is survived by four children; Brenda Harrison, Terri Brody and Husband John, Betsy James, and Carl Harmon; daughter in law Shelynda Harmon; brother, Kenneth Harmon, and wife Shirlene; best friend Marlene Tillman. He is preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Son Larry Harmon, two brothers and three sisters.

Graveside services are scheduled for Friday, March 4, 2022, at Fairlawn Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Friday morning from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Services are under the direction of Matherly Davis Funeral Home.
