Daryl Christensen, of Rathdrum, Idaho, passed away on March 5, 2022.
He was a charismatic storyteller and those who knew him well have heard many stories of his adventures in work and travel. He was born in Calgary to Howard and Betty Christensen and grew up with his three siblings Colin, Shirley and Kevin. He had fond memories of growing up on the family farm during his younger years. His family moved to Calgary when he was 10 and later went on to graduate from William Aberhart High School. He met his first wife in Calgary and had three sons; Dion, Shawn and Josh. He attended SAIT and started a career in the Oil Patch. He was very proud of his design and fabrication work of well servicing equipment. Some of his most vibrant stories came from his business travels around the world. He had a long list of places he had been to, among his favorites were Singapore, Venezuela and China. It was early on in his career that he met his second wife, Sandra and had a daughter, Kimberley. The oil field industry brought him to Oklahoma, where he and Sandra established Redmont Sales. While in Oklahoma, he pursued his hobbies of woodworking and motorsports of any kind. With their sights set on retirement, Daryl and Sandra built a home and moved to North Idaho to be closer to family.
Daryl will be deeply missed by his wife of almost 40 years, Sandra; his children Dion (Noby) and their children Celestia and Chad; Shawn and his children Kyla and Lucas; Josh (Stacey) and their children Dash, Rodae and Holden; Kimberley (Christa) and their children Bodhi and Dax; his father Howard and mother Betty; siblings Colin, Shirley and Kevin and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In honor of Daryl’s final wishes, no services will be held.
