December 14, 1918 - April 3, 2022
Kathryn Nann (Lowe) Flood, long-time Cushing resident, went to be with our Lord on April 3, 2022, at the Cushing Hospital. She was 103 years old and was an amazing lady with many talents. Born on December 14, 1918, at the Lowe farm in Lincoln County, she was the fourth of nine children born to James George Lowe and Oda Martha (Hickman) Lowe. She witnessed many events in her long life, such as WWI ending in 1918, Dust Bowl Days, Great Depression, Space travel and ending of WWII.
She enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, and quilting but her favorite hobby was gardening and being with her family. She was an active member of First United Methodist, Cushing.
Her early education started at Agra, Lincoln County. She graduated from Cushing High School Class of 1936 and later attended Oklahoma A & M. J.C. Penneys, Cushing, became a thirty-three-year place of employment, starting in 1948 and ending with her retirement in 1981.
She married and had two daughters, Rosa Mary Flood Smith (Husband-James) and Lillian Kay Flood Holeman (Husband-Doyle). Five grandchildren; Brett Geymann, Lake Charles, LA, Leslie Traux, Fort Collins, CO, Cissie Book, Lake Charles, LA, Michael Holeman, Claremore, OK, David Holeman, Princeton, TX, Fourteen Great Great Grandchildren and Five Great Grandchildren. Also, four Step-Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews all of them cherished by her.
Surviving siblings are her brother, Harold Lowe of Cushing and her sister, Ruth Ecker of Edmond. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Oda Lowe and siblings, Elizabeth Hanson, George Lowe, Martha Armstrong, Louise Davis, Richard Lowe, and Jean Bradley.
Funeral Services for Kathryn will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Matherly-Davis Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Josh Buchink offi ciating. Burial will follow at Osage Cemetery in Agra, OK. Services are under the direction of Matherly Davis Funeral Home.
