Deputy Fire Chief Dalton Novotny keeps a steady stream of water running over the home on the corner of Maple and Independence as the fire comes under control. The Cushing Fire Department stayed on scene for two hours to watch for hot spots and possible flares.
A house fire located at 902 East Maple in Cushing started at about 9:16 a.m. on Monday, April 18, according to Cushing Fire Captain Jeremy Willman. Cushing Fire Department members were dispatched within two minutes and on scene within four.
“Upon arrival the house was approximately 90 percent involved with heavy smoke and fire coming from three sides of the structure,” said Willman.
