Howard Phillips, Jr. passed from this life on Friday, July 22, 2022, at his home in Cushing with his family by his side.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, at 4:30 p.m. at Harrell Cemetery, Cushing, Oklahoma. Reverend Larry Haney will offi ciate. His care has been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, OK.
Howard was born on September 29, 1953, in Cushing, Oklahoma to the late Howard Clifton and Anna Lee (Dunagan) Phillips. He grew up in Cushing, graduating from Cushing High School in 1971. Howard married Glenda Lassley, in March of 1973, in Yale, OK. They were married for 23 years and from this union their daughter Amanda and son Trey were born. They were married for 23 years.
Howard worked for Sunoco Oil Company for many years, retiring in 2009. Howard worked as a real estate agent and private investigator for a while. Spending time with his granddaughter, Kyra was his favorite thing to do. He enjoyed motorcycles, guitars, fi shing, song writing, horses, and the horse races. His trips to Nashville were the best. He really enjoyedwatching his granddaughter play softball, he was her #1 fan.
Howard is survived by his daughter Amanda Phillips of Oklahoma City, his son Trey Phillips and wife Ashley of Cushing and granddaughter Kyra Phillips.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Nancy Hawes and brother Joe Phillips.
