Clarence E. Simmons, age 79, formerly of Cushing OK, passed from this life on June 1, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa Oklahoma.
Born November 25, 1942 in Oklahoma to William Washington (Wash) and Mary Ann Reece Simmons, he lived in Cushing most of his life. His happiest days were spent on the family farm where he was free to shoot baskets, ride his horse, roam the farm, or simply be with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings including Earnest, Raymond, and James. Several siblings died at birth or as small infants. He was also preceded in death by his nephew, Paul Simmons of Bloomington, IL Surviving are his nieces, Gaynelle (and John) Birky of Hopedale, IL, Peggy (and Jim) Flannigan of Tremont, IL, Karen Miller and Nicole Miller of Stillwater, and one nephew, James F. (Frank) Simmons Jr. of Tremont IL. He is also survived by several great nieces and nephews as well as 3 greatgreat nieces and several cousins whom he dearly loved.
Clarence loved to go to the closest church and play the guitar and sing. He was especially close to his brother, James who passed away in 2000. He then became close to some of his great-nephews who lived nearby.
There will be no formal service. His family will have a celebration of his life in October at the family farm. Cremation has been accorded
