Aaron “Blue” Nathan Archer, 98, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on November 8, 2022. He is now reunited with the love of his life, Doris. His care has been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, Oklahoma.
Blue was born on November 14, 1923, to parents James and Irene (Rector) Archer. Although a quiet- natured man, he loved music and dancing. He enjoyed reading along with fishing and traveling. Graduating from Norfolk schools, he was a proud player when their basketball team took the state title in 1942. Blue was also very proud of his family. He believed in our country and was very patriotic. He honorably served in WWII as a pilot and loved to fly planes. He served in the Army Air Corps for three years and then two and a half years in the Army Reserve. Throughout his lifetime, he worked as a carpenter and contractor in the Cushing area. Blue is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Doris Laverne (Skinner) Archer; two sons-in-law, Fred Butcher and Larry Dawes; two brothers, George Eldin Archer & Billy Lew Archer; and his great grandchild Braiden Dawes. Blue is survived by his daughters Linda Kay Butcher and Shelley Ann Dawes; grandchildren Ron Dawes, Dana Dawes, Kathy White, Karry Alfaro, Dwayne Butcher, Jennifer Worthington; great grandchildren, Jacob, Jacquelyn, Hayley, Rachel, Toni, Landen, Lori, Justin, Lily, Alyssa, Reagan, Nick, James; and 8 great-great grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 2PM – 4PM on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, OK. Services for Blue will be at 10AM on Monday, November 14, 2022, at Council Valley Baptist Church in Yale, OK. Interment will immediately follow at Euchee Valley Memorial Park. Your love and dedication to him will always be remembered.
