A memorial for my son, Gary. My son, Gary Earl Gregory, his brother (Clifton Gregory, Jr.) and myself lived in Drumright, OK, most of their lives. He and his brother played football and basketball, had paper routes, went to the Nazarene Church and Gary loved Drumright. When he was 21 years of age, he was in a car accident which almost took his life, he was taken to Cushing Hospital Emergency Room, from there transported by ambulance to Osteopathic Hospital in Tulsa where he was for an extended time as he was not expected to live. Many prayers went up, a lot of care was needed and given, before he was released from the hospital. In time, he recovered enough that he was able to work, got married and lived in Tulsa until the children were grown and grandchildren were born, which Gary loved being with. When he and his wife separated, Gary moved to Glencoe with his brother Clifton. He was on medications for seizures, due to the accident, and needed to stay in touch with a neurology doctor and Clifton helped with that. Gary was also needing to have knee replacement on his right knee, so he called me in Arizona where I lived to find out about coming there to have his surgery. We made arrangements with the doctors when he got to Arizona and knee replacement was done but he also needed the other knee taken care of. After recovery from both knees, his neurology doctor told him a new brain surgeon had arrived in Phoenix and he would like Gary to see him, as he believed this new surgeon could help him. Appointments were made, many tests were done and time for the surgery was set. Needless to say, we had everyone praying, the surgery was successful, but he would need 2 years recovery time to get off the medication and be clear of the side effects. Gary was now looking forward to moving back to Oklahoma (Drumright), buying a fixer upper home. Gary planned to live in the home while making repairs, visiting family and friends in person instead of by phone or email. Gary rented an apartment until he could find a house to buy. He caught up with family and friends and made new friends; however, God did not see fit for Gary’s plan to work as he wished and instead took him to his heavenly home during the Christmas holidays of 2022.
I love you son, both you and Clifton and thank God for the time we had together...Love Mom.
