Jerry Lee Scalley, Sr., was born August 31, 1945, to Ruban and Nadine (Pleasant) Scalley in Palmer, Missouri. He departed this life on June 23, 2024, at the age of 78 years.
Jerry left high school to join the United States Marine Corps. He was united in marriage to Tommie Lacy in 1982, after being together for over 10 years. To this union eight children were born.
Jerry attended several Baptist churches. He enjoyed painting, spending time with his kids and grandkids and especially music, whether it was performing in Arkansas when he was younger, or singing and writing music in his later years.
Survivors include his wife, TJ, of the home; children, Mark Scalley, Jerry Scalley Jr., Trish Horton, Marchella Gloodt and husband, Pete, Henry Scalley and fiancé’, Lacy, and Jason Scalley and wife, Elizabeth; twelve brothers and sisters; fourteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by two sons, Russell Scalley and Dakota Scalley; one grandson, Ricky Tatum and three brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Cushing. Services are under the direction of the Matherly-Davis Funeral Home.
