Loren Dale Gillespie was born April 1, 1925, to Francis and Allie Gillespie in Cushing, Oklahoma. He departed this life July 12, 2024, at the age of 99.
He graduated from Cushing High School in 1943 then enlisted in the United States Navy where he served from 1943 to 1946. He then attended Oklahoma A&M.
On April 6, 1950, Loren Dale Gillespie and Rose Marie Fillmore were united in marriage. From this union were born two children, Linda and Audrey. They enjoyed seventy-one years together before her passing June 29, 2021.
He had worked at several places in his life including Oklahoma Natural Gas, Consolidated Gas Company and retired from Foresee Chevrolet as a Service Manager after 22 years of service.
He loved antique cars, especially Studebaker’s. He enjoyed driving around Cushing in his different cars. He also enjoyed playing pool at the senior citizens center with his good friend, Linda Tarver. He made an impact on many lives and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda Dennis and husband Eugene, Audrey Gerfen and husband Chris;four grandchildren, David Gerfen and wife Brittney, Janene Stewart and husband John, Jerod Gerfen and wife Lauren, and Rhiannon Dennis; six great grandchildren, Emma Brundrett and husband Jake, Abby Steward, Jenna Stewart, Sheridan Battles, Zaya Battles, and Elliott Gerfen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, Kenneth Gillespie, sister, Patricia Fillmore, and one grandson Dash Dennis.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at the Big Creek Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Cushing, Oklahoma.
