Vida Geraldine Davis (Jeannie) was born April 25, 1940, to Ruia (Olive) & Eddie Sneed in Maramec, Oklahoma. She passed away September 7, 2024, at the age of 84. Her care has been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, OK.
Jeannie married Darrell Davis on November 27, 1961. She spent many years as a military wife, mother and grandmother.
Jeannie retired as head cook at Oak Grove School with 21 years serving and loving many children. She spent most of her time serving her church at Mehan Union and helping with the food bank. She was a life member with the VFW and American Legion. Jeannie would help anyone who needed it and was well loved.
Being a sports enthusiast, basketball was her favorite sport. While in high school, she played basketball and graduated in 1958 from Glencoe Schools in Oklahoma.
Jeannie is preceded in death by her parents; 6 siblings; and Darrell who was the love of her life with whom she spent 54 years.
Jeannie leaves behind her son Gerald Davis and wife Valerie of Drumright, Oklahoma; her daughter Carla Anderson and husband Jim of Bristow, Oklahoma; her son Brian Davis and wife Beth of Glencoe, Oklahoma; Many grandkids Sarah, John, Shannon, Shawn, Gerald Jr. Dalton, Heather & Farran, Levi, Shawna, Keeli and Koti, and many great grands, and great-great grands; sisters Norma Klingaman, Linda Schafer and Pat Driskell.
Jeannie was very patriotic, always making sure she went to rally around the pole at Oak Grove with many years of working the turkey dinner.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Mehan Union Church at 8300 E. 68th St, Stillwater, OK 74074. The visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, OK with family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
