Vineta Ruth Weathers née Cather died October 27, 2024 at her home in Denison, Texas at the age of 83. She was born to Lonnie Martin Cather and Oleva Ruth Cather née Pearce July 4, 1941 on the family farm in Maramec, Oklahoma and from that day forward was known to her father as his “firecracker”. Vineta loved working at the Cushing Dairy-ette following high school and had many fond memories of her schoolmates and friends from the area. She was a former resident of Norman, Oklahoma for many years, moving to San Angelo, Texas following her retirement from the State of Oklahoma after decades of service. She had lived in Denison since 2011. Vineta was preceded in death by her husbands Teddy Sheridan and Wynn Weathers, brothers William (Dave) Murrell and Ralph Murrell. Survivors include her three children Lisa Hall (Garry), Logan Sheridan and Lynda Sheridan, sisters Marilyn Robinson of Cushing, Oklahoma, Loreta Watkins (Ricky) of Kellyville, Oklahoma and brother Elton (Bud) Cather of Woodward, Oklahoma. Also granddaughters Emily Guy (Spencer) and Grace Hall along with 2 great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider making a donation to Home Hospice of Grayson Fannin and Cooke counties who provided loving, supportive care to Vineta during the last few months of her life. The family will hold a private memorial service to celebrate Vineta’s life at a future date.
