Cristy Culp Foster was born October 10, 1950, to Neal E. and Betty Jean (Copple) Culp in Cushing, Oklahoma. She departed this life on November 15, 2024, at the age of 74 years. Cristy was raised in Cushing, graduating from Cushing High School with the class of 1968. She then received her Associate’s Degree from Sullins College and a Bachelor’s Degree from Southeastern State College.
Cristy was united in marriage to John “Jay” Foster on June 28, 1970. To this union, three daughters, Cari, Sara and Emily, were born. Cristy worked alongside her dad to build Oilwell Fracturing Services, and she continued to be instrumental in the operations of the company for over 30 years until her retirement. Cristy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she devoted much of her time to serving others. She was a member of P.E.O., Hypatia Club and D.A.R. She loved spending time reading, knitting, shopping, playing bridge, making cards, serving with the South Grand Lake Meals on Wheels, and especially loved spending time with and supporting her grandkids. Survivors include her husband, Jay, of Claremore; daughters, Cari Gibson and husband, Barry, of Verdigris, Sara Walters and husband, Mike, of Claremore and Emily Childress and husband, Jason, of Cushing; grandchildren, Brody Gibson and wife, Kate, Cade Gibson, Makenna Walters, Kevan Beeler and wife, Monica, and Jacee Childress; and many other relatives and friends, including one great-grandchild on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 21, 2024, in the First Presbyterian Church in Cushing.
