Barbra Jean “Sweet-Thang” Prather

On August 31, 1959, Barbra was born in the Cushing Best Hospital to her proud parents, Mary Lee Verner and Willie G. Prather, Jr.

Barbra attended grade school, junior high and high school in the Cushing area where she received her diploma. Deciding to further her education, she enrolled in classes to become a nurse. Being homesick along with being a daddy’s girl, Barbra decided to come back home to utilize her nursing skills.

In 1979, Barbra met Oliver Woodberry and gave birth to Lakeshia and one year later gave birth to her son Jason Woodberry. A few years later, Barbra met Richard Miller and her baby girl Amanda was born.

Barbra is survived by her brother, PeeWee and sister, Terese Wilson of Fort Gibson. She leaves behind four grandchildren and a bunch of nieces and nephews.

Barbra was a caregiver. She loved taking care of people.
