Robert Eugene “Bobby” Lofton was born March 11, 1939, in Hennessey, Oklahoma, to Robert Albert and Harriet Estelle Lofton. He went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 18, 2026, in Cushing, Oklahoma at the age of 87.
On December 21, 1957, Bobby married his sweetheart, Pauline Biswell, at the First Church of God in Ripley, Oklahoma. Together they shared 45 years of marriage before Pauline was called to be with the Lord on February 26, 2003. Their union was blessed with two children, Debbie and Ricky. Following Pauline’s passing, Bobby found great companionship and happiness with Gay Forrest, who remained a special part of his life for the remainder of his days.
Bobby was probably best known for his incredible, unrelenting work ethic. He was always busy—a man in constant motion. He had just one speed: full throttle. Bobby worked for many years at Cushing Lumber, where he later retired. Even at age 80, he was still doing manual labor and could outwork almost anyone.
Throughout his life, Bobby enjoyed the great outdoors. He especially loved hunting in southeastern Oklahoma near Clayton, running his trotline at Kaw and Keystone Lakes, and spending time with family and friends. He always seemed happiest camping, sitting around a campfire, and surrounded by those he loved.
He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Brown and husband Larry; his son, Ricky Lofton and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Josh Brown, Sondra Walters, Annie Hernandez, Robert Lofton, and Ricky Lofton Jr.; great-grandchildren, Boston Brown, Finley Brown, Rylee Brown, Scarlett Walters, Caitlin Briggeman, Daniel Hernandez Jr., Gabriel Hernandez, Joseph Keith (JK) Lofton, Jase Lofton, and Kaedyn Carroll; and one great-greatgrandchild, Vivi Green.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Albert and Harriet Estelle Lofton; his loving wife, Pauline Lofton; and three sisters, Bonnie Cole, Shirley Wiggs, and Betty Daugherty.
Bobby will be remembered for his enormous capacity to work and give of himself, his quiet and unyielding strength, his appreciation for life’s simple pleasures, and his unconditional love for his family. He was a father figure to many of his closest friends and family members and taught them that a day was not meant to be wasted. Bobby was a great man whose legacy lives on through the generations of family and friends who were blessed to know and love him. He will be deeply missed and remembered by all whose lives he touched.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Lofton, Ricky Lofton Jr., Josh Brown, Billy Ray Biswell, Scott Harrison and Cody Walters. Honorary pallbearers will be James Daugherty, Bobby Gene Biswell, Richard Wiggs, DeWayne Dauman, Daniel Hernandez Jr. and Ricky Don Robison.
Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 7:00pm, Wednesday, September 23, 2026 in the family center at the funeral home.
Services are at 2:00pm, Thursday, September, 24, 2026 in the First Church of God in Cushing.
