Tiger golf team places seventh at State

GROVE — Cushing Tiger golf traveled to the Shangri La Resort in Grove last week to compete in the OSSAA Class 4A golf tournament. The Tigers went into the three round tournament ranked No. 9 in the state, and walked out of it with 954 total strokes and a tie for seventh place with the Poteau Pirates.

One of the Tigers’ best seasons ever comes to a close NOBLE - After splitting games, 2-1, with the Stigler Panthers two weeks ago to win the regional title and earn one of eight available spots in the OSSAA 4A baseball state championship bracket, the Cushing Tigers were matched up with the No. 1 ranked Tuttle Tigers.

CUSHING — The Cushing Tiger golf team is going to have to make room for some new hardware after their second tournament win of the season at the Regional Tournament hosted at Buffalo Rock Golf Course where they shot an even 300 with an impressive three out of five Tiger golfers securing top five spots on the leaderboard.

PURCELL — Cushing Lady Tigers traveled to Purcell Wednesday, April 24, for the OSSAA Class 4A Girls Regional Tournament where they competed against Marlow, Pauls Valley, Tuttle, Byng, Mannford, North Rock Creek, and Purcell. Lady Tigers were ranked 16 in class 4A. Katelynn Powell was ranked 13 individually, she finished 5th both days and qualified for state.

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Cushing Tigers golf team traveled to the Lake Hefner Golf Course in Oklahoma City Thursday, April 25, where as a team they placed seventh with 311 strokes. Bag one and lone senior for the team, Cayden Sherwood, had 74 strokes, tying with Eli Whitehead of North Rock Creek, Landon Cummings of OKC, and Bryce Cale of OKC for eighth place.
