Harold Glen Day was born August 4, 1928, to Charels Franklin and Lena Myrtle (Vesper) Day in Cushing, Oklahoma; he was one of thirteen children. Harold departed this life on September 3, 2026, at the age of 98 years.
Harold was a lifelong Cushing resident. He was united in marriage to Patricia Mansfield on July 30, 1949, and to this union three children, Diann, Danny and Terry, were born. The couple were married for over 75 years when Pat preceded him in death on February 4, 2025. Harold attended Crossway Church. He loved playing dominos and spending time at the Cushing Senior Citizen as often as possible. He loved riding his scooter and was seen speeding down Broadway within the past year. In his younger days, he enjoyed golfing, shooting pool (was quite the pool shark), repairing lawn mowers, bicycles and anything that allowed him to be outdoors. Harold and Pat ran the skating rink in Cushing for many years, and he enjoyed working on the skates.
Harold is survived by two children, Diann Short and Terry Day, both of Cushing; grandchildren, Tracy Stultz and husband, Wayne, Brandi Boutwell and husband, Heath, Darren Day, Jeremy Day and wife, Rebecca, Troy Day, Ronnie Day, Shannon Day, Tanya Estep and husband, Steve, Randy Day, Shaunda Boynton and husband, Nicholas, Michael Haymes, Michelle Haymes, Lisa Marriott and Jessica Moss; 28 great-grandchildren; 29 great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Harold was preceded in death by one son, Danny Day; twelve brothers and sisters: Barbara Lewis, Carl Day, June McEntire, Paul Day, Jimmy Day, Don Day, Eva Chestman, LeRoy Day, Bud Day, Evalena Day, Stella Greg and JoAnita James.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Crossway Church with Pastor Sonny Johnston officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Darren Day, Jeremy Day, Terry Day, Troy Day, Kenny Buckles and Robert Crook.
The family will greet friends on Friday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. in the Family Center at the Matherly Davis Funeral Home.
