Members of Girl Scout Troop #79

Members of Girl Scout Troop #79 brought some much-needed cookie joy to Cushing City Hall last week. Led by parent leaders Ashlea Risenhoover and Karen Page, the scouts presented Cushing City Manager Terry Brannon, representing the team at City Hall, with several boxes of cookies making for a joyful afternoon. Making the presentation were scouts Mylee Risenhoover, Alexa Page and Emma Page.

Last week, the Payne County Courthouse re-opened for clerical and records matters, but it wasn’t until May 18, when the actual courtrooms were opened — on a limited basis.

Lincoln County Assessor beginning visual inspections this week

Personnel from the Lincoln County Assessor’s Office are starting the visual inspection of real property as required by state law. County Assessor Jackie Holcomb stated that this visual inspection will not require contact between her employees and property owners.

May on Broadway

More than 40 people turned out for the Cushing Pride May on Broadway event Saturday to plant flowers and clean up the 16 planters along the Broadway sidewalks as well as cut down and clean out the weeds growing through the sidewalk cracks.
