10-U Tigers take regional title, advance to state tourney

Making their third appearance in three years, the Cushing 10U Tiger baseball team opened play in the OK Kids State Baseball Tournament in Weatherford late Tuesday morning against the McCalister Tribe. The Tigers advanced to the state tournament after thumping Byng, 14-2, to take the regional championship in hot tournament action this past weekend at the Cushing Sports Complex.

7U Tigers take Blanchard Tourney

The 7U Cushing Tigers turned a No. 4 seeding into a tournament win this weekend in Blanchard. After going 1-1 in pool games Saturday, they were listed as the number four team and qualified for the single elimination, win-or-go-home tournament on Sunday.

Spring sports cancellations rob CHS seniors of final season memories

Last month, the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association officially ended the 2019-20 high school sports season, approving executive director David Jackson's recommendation to cancel the state basketball tournaments and all spring activities. This announcement came on the heels of the Oklahoma State Department of Education’s vote that ended all extracurricular activities at public schools.
