Cushing man charged with cattle theft

A Cushing man is facing charges of cattle theft after officials say he stole a half dozen cows from a farm in rural Payne County in February.

According to court documents, Leonard Hayden Hargrove, 20, of Cushing, stole three cows on Feb. 1 and three more cows on Feb. 4 from the same property.

The case was investigated by the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, court records show.

If convicted of two felony counts of larceny of livestock, Hargrove could be imprisoned for six to 20 years and fined up to three times the value of the cattle. He has not yet appeared in court.
