The Dance Star Productions recital was a show that wowed the audience! On Saturday, June 20, the stands at O’Dell Field were full once again with families yearning to see the young dancers tell their story.

After a rainy graduation ceremony on Friday night, there was talk of relocating, or even postponing, Saturday night’s performance.

Instructor and founder of Dance Star Productions Jillian Blakemore said before the show that she was happy with the break in the weather.

“These kids have been working hard all year for this moment,” she said. “We are so thankful to have a dry stage.”

With clear skies, positive attitudes, and eye catching costumes, nothing was standing in the way of the young performers. Mary Poppins, High School Musical, The Little Mermaid and many more stories were showcased in the performance, using several different genres of dance such as ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, and more.

Families reviewed it as “breath-taking” and "astounding.”

“These kids are so talented. I’m blessed to be able to work with them and encourage their creativity,” said dance instructor Scott Hynes after the show.
