A second round of Saharan dust blew in on the wind Tuesday, masking the skies and drying the eyes of area residents. The phenomenon occurs when dust storms lift microscopic particles of dust into the upper atmosphere where trade winds carry them across the Atlantic Ocean. Forecasters say this wave should dissipate and move out of the region by Thursday.
