In the race for Oklahoma House of Representatives District 33, incumbent Republican John Talley retained his seat, defeating challenger Brice Nathaniel Chaffin 2,455 votes to 2,098.

Last night Talley told the Citizen, “I am humbled that Payne County would elect me again and I am excited to continue the work we started. I hope that people will continue to contact me. I work for the people of Payne County.”

Incumbent Payne County Kevin Woodward and candidate Joe Harper will go to a run-off as Woodward received 3,338 votes (47.12 percent) and Harper carried 2,516 (35.52 percent) while candidate Garry McKinnis received 1,230 votes. The run-off election will take place Tuesday, August 25.

In the race for Drumright Public School Board Office No. 5, Alicia Richardson defeated Forrest Gray, III, 255 votes to 207.

In Glencoe, the race for school board office No. 5, saw Jason Dwayne Harding defeat Nicole Currant, 303 votes to 207.

In Stillwater, Ashley Moore defeated Steve Hallgren with 66 percent of the vote in the race for Stillwater Public School Board Office No. 5, and in the race for office No. 4, Melody Wright defeated Dustin Reavis with 69 percent of the vote.

With 5 of six precincts reporting in Yale, Dustin Muggenborg defeated Marty Foutch for office No. 5 on the Yale school board with 61 percent of the vote.
