1,279 acres burned in last weeks fires near Yale

PAYNE COUNTY - A devastating fire that started on the afternoon of Tuesday, Oct. 29, blackened over 1,000 acres of land and put nearly 100 citizens’ homes in jeopardy.

Drumright Police Department congratulated offi cer Brian Niccum on offi cially becoming certifi ed through the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET) on Oct. 24. According to Assistant Chief Mandy Folden, Niccum started with the department in May and has been steadily progressing towards his certifi cation.
