PERKINS - For the past several years, Ripley High School cheerleaders have missed the opportunity to attend cheer camp.Many other schools in the area attend annually, but the lack of funding at Ripley has kept the girls from the experience.

CUSHING - Some people are lucky enough to have a green thumb — in the case of Ben Welch, he was lucky to be born into a family of green thumbs, starting with his great grandfather.“My great grandfather started selling plants,” he said.

Second arrest connected to 2023 murder case

Recently, a second person was arrested in connection to the murder case of 21-year-old Samuel Crawford from 2023. Michael Ritter had charges of first degree murder, operating a chop shop, and desecration of a human corpse filed against him on May 30.

ALVA - Spring semester honor rolls at Northwestern Oklahoma State University have been announced by the office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs.Those on the President’s Honor Roll earned all A’s, or a 4.0 grade point average (GPA), in a minimum of 12 undergraduate or nine graduate hours.
