Emergency Drought Commission Extends Deadline for Select Practices

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Emergency Drought Commission met on Tuesday and voted on several motions regarding the Emergency Drought Cost-Share Program. The deadline for practices related to water well drilling, pipeline, pumping plant and water facilities has been extended to December 31, 2024.

Gravel train derails on Watco line near Davenport

DAVENPORT — Twenty-two rail cars loaded with gravel went off the rails east of Davenport Saturday and overturned, spilling the gravel, but resulting in zero injuries.The train, operated by the Stillwater Central Railroad, a division of Watco, totalled 90 cars.

STILLWATER — The Payne County Board of Commissioners Monday heard from officials from the Saville Center for Child Advocacy on their funding request from the county’s portion of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).

CUSHING — Cushing Marketplace has been steadily under construction for several months. According to John Moran, the construction is nearing completion and he is hopeful the marketplace will be operational soon.“We’re targeting the first of May to open for shopping,' he said.
