OHP retiring the *55 call number

For almost three decades, *55 has been the number to call for assistance while on Oklahoma's highways. That number is now retiring, as the Oklahoma Highway Patrol becomes a second PSAP (public safety answering point.

Creek County to select 2-year bridge inspector

Creek County commissioners held a conference call to interview bridge inspection companies in the midst of the regular meeting on Monday, Oct. 4. According to Creek County District 2 Commissioner Leon Warner, the county is required to select a company to do bridge inspections every two years.

Steel Beam Transfer saves Payne County thousands

Payne County will be able to save thousands on upcoming projects due to the approval of an Oklahoma Department of Transportation transfer form. During the Oct. 4 regular meeting of the Payne County commissioners an ODOT transfer form for steel beams was presented and approved.

9th Street closed temporarily Thursday

On Thursday, Oct. 7th, between 8 am and 4 pm, 9th Street, between Harmony and Norfolk, will be closed to upgrade overhead electrical wires. Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicle and for frontages within the closed section of the road, subject to the progress of the work.
