Senate Review

From the moment the legislative session begins, members are working to meet a series of deadlines aimed at keeping the process on track. As the second week of the 2021 session drew to a close, that meant we were just two more weeks away from hitting the first of those big deadlines—Feb.

Two Bills Pass Committees

We’ve only just started the legislative session, and our first major deadline will be here soon. The deadline to pass bills out of their House committees is Thursday, Feb. 25.

Cushing Municipal Airport Manager Mike Middleton said that the weather monitoring station there recorded a low temperature of 14 degrees below zero just after 5 a.m.

Drumright man facing 20 years in oilfield scheme

A Drumright man pleaded guilty to money laundering and fraud in federal court in Tulsa on Monday. 59-year-old David Owen West admitted that he defrauded an Illinois-based petroleum company of more than $400,000 while he worked for them over a period of four years.

COVID-19 Update

According to the Oklahoma State Department of Health, as of Mon. Feb. 15, Oklahoma has 26,651 active cases of covid-19. There have been 414,272 total cases since testing began, with 389,035 recovered and 4,041 deaths attributed to the virus. Creek county has 326 active cases.
