Jennifer Blankinship was born on June 25 in Cushing,OK. From the ages of three to 18 she went to Ripley school with the same 24 students. “When you get to grow up in a small class, they aren’t just your classmates they’re your family,” Blankinship said. She graduated high school in 1991.

Dolese Bros. acquires Quapaw Company

Last month, Dolese Brothers Co. acquired 100 percent of the stock of The Quapaw Company in a buyout. Quapaw, founded in the early 1950s by the Childress and Kiser families were beginning their the fourth generation of ownership. The Quapaw Company will now be a whollyowned subsidiary of Dolese.

An employee at Cushing’s Buffalo Rock Golf Course sprays water on the greens to keep them cool in triple digit heat last week. Recent rains have served to cool the temperatures and the Cushing area can expect good golfing weather with temps in the lower 90s under partly cloudy skies through Friday.

The Cushing Chamber of Commerce turned out to the RSP-Artzy Cookin' Place Nonprofit Organization at 208 W Broadway Friday, for a grand opening ceremony hosted by non-profit partners Matt Ray, Cathy Smith and Afton Pierce. Artzy Cookin Place will offer art and cooking classes Monday through Friday.
