AGRA - On Monday, April 22 the Pre-K students at Agra Public Schools witnessed the miracle of birth when the chicks that had been incubating in the classroom hatched. Hands-on learning such as this has become increasingly popular nationwide following countless studies showing positive results.

Largemouth bass good on buzz baits, plastic baits, spinnerbaits, and topwater lures around brush structure, riprap, shallows, and shorelines. Crappie fair on jigs and small lures around brush structure, docks, riprap, shallows, and shorelines. Channel catfish fair on worms around docks. Ripley Public Schools announces Valedictorians Maggie Battles, Mollie Battles, Beau Burch, Dakota Hall, Drew Lininger, Mark Lunsford, Carolyn Overton, Kendyl Overton, Taleah Simon, Presley Thomas, and Andrea Varble, and Salutatorian Blake Baker. Ripley Graduation will be May 11 at 6 p.m. at the Brenda Dale Performing Arts Center.

Sanitary Sewer Projects about to begin

CUSHING - A Cushing Municipal Authority infrastructure improvement project has had material delivered and will be underway soon, according to Assistant City Manager Derek Griffith. The Old Drake Lift Sanitary Sewer Project is a nearly $1 million project that will be replacing approximately 3,200 linear feet of clay tile pipe.

Commissioners vote to replace Bridge on McElroy

STILLWATER — The Payne County Board of Commissioners Monday approved moving county bridge No. 55, located on McElroy Road, east of Redlands Road to be engineered in 2025 on the 5-year CIRB Plan due to bridge condition.

Don got his Harmonica from Heaven

CUSHING - A gift from God was bestowed upon Don Wilbur, in the form of a harmonica laying in a creek bed in 1939 at the young age of 11. “I picked a harmonica up when I was in a Salvation Army home and found it in a little creek coming down from the mountain where snow was melting and I picked it up and said I’m gonna learn to play it,” he said.
