Chavez places first, tigers place 5th as a team in Perkins

PERKINS — Cushing Tigers Golf opened their season in Perkins at the Tussle at the Trails at Cimarron Trails Golf Course. The tigers placed 5th as a team with 342 strokes, with one tiger placing first.Bag one for the Tigers, senior Korben Gaskins, placed 41st with 86 strokes.

Cushing man jailed on sex offender registration violation charge

STILLWATER — A 37-year-old man, who was convicted of sexual battery of a person over 16 in Cowley County, Kansas in 2007, has been charged with failing to register as a sex offender in Oklahoma while he was living in an apartment at 306 S. Timber Ridge in Cushing for about four months.
