Debra Louise Chisholm

With hearts broken by her sudden and unexpected passing, we remember an incredible woman whose life was defined by extraordinary love, pure selflessness, and a quiet but constant devotion to the family she leaves behind.

Debra (“Debbie”) Louise Chisholm was born in Frankfurt, Germany on November 3, 1951, and-far too soon-she slipped softly from this life on October 21, 2026. She is preceded in death by her parents, Deward and Gladys McGhee, and her husband, Lloyd Chisholm. She is survived by her brother Rick Mc-Ghee; her daughter Kerri Wise and her husband Tony; her son Scott Chisholm and his wife Martha; her grandson Jake; granddaughters Jenna, Morgan, and Emma; greatgrandkids Olive, CJ, and Eli; and a multitude of cherished cousins and friends.

Growing up as the daughter of a United States Army colonel meant that her childhood “home” was everywhere from Germany to Japan, Albuquerque to Fort Smith, and eventually Tulsa-the place she would call home for the rest of her life. Debbie was sweet, shy, obedient-a rule-follower, if you will. Then, in 1967, along came Lloyd Chisholm. Not too many people are lucky enough to find their forever person at such a young age, and he was-without a doubt-her person. They married on November 7, 1969, just four days after her 18th birthday. They would spend the next 41 years building a family and proving their love for each other.

Debbie was smart and dependable, determined and dedicated. She poured her talents into her work as a business accountant and treasured every opportunity she got to visit with old friends or travel with family she held so close. If you knew Debbie, you couldn’t help but love her-not because she was gregarious or outgoing but because she was pure and genuine. None of us deserved her, but each of us is better because of her. Her love was the kind of love that made you feel like you were the only one who mattered. The world feels a little less kind and a lot less beautiful without her in it. Though we can no longer hold her close, we will carry her with us in all that we are and in everything we do.
