Anita Jean Tate was born June 19, 1960, to Roy and Rosie Jean Hoover in Fresno, California. She departed this life August 3, 2022, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 62. She graduated from high school in Fresno, California and later attended classes at Langston University. She worked as a correctional officer at Cimarron Correctional Facility. Anita was a member of the General Assembly and Church of the First Born. She loved going to church and was always willing to sing while there. She enjoyed traveling as well as storm chasing. Her true joy came when she was able to spend time with her grandchildren. She is survived by three children, Justin Tate, Christy White, and Charity Tate; one sister, Phyllis Batt; one brother, Michael Hoover; fifteen grandchildren, Bailey Basden, Austin Tate, Britney Tate, Andrew Tate, Aaron Tate, Nicole Tate, Christian Tate, Alisha, Tate, Misty Tate, Dustin Tate, Arlie Tate, Toran Tate, Laci Tate, Callie Tate, and Gunner Tate. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Dustin Tate. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00AM, Monday, August 8, 2022, at the Parkland Church of the Firstborn. Interment will follow at the Parkland Cemetery.
