Ann Minor Berry was born April 6, 1934, to Basil and Mary Minor in Cushing, Oklahoma. She departed this life February 21, 2024, at the age of 89.
She graduated from Cushing High School in 1952 and later graduated from Oklahoma State University with her Bachelor of Education degree.
On August 21, 1953, Ann Minor and J.D. Berry were united in marriage. From this union were born three children, Jennifer, Julie, and Jim. She was a teacher at Cushing Middle School for over 30 years.
Ann was the longest living member of the Cushing First Baptist Church. She was a member of P.E.O., the Geographic Club, and D.A.R. (Daughters of the American Revolution).
She enjoyed playing bridge and watching old movies. The highlight of her day was always when she had the opportunity to spend it with family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, J.D. Berry; three children, Jennifer Dory and husband Steve, Julie Powers and husband Bill, Jim Berry, and wife Jessica; Grandchildren, Jill McAninch and husband Casey, Carrie Szatmary and husband Ron, Wesley Womack and wife Brooke, Taylor Womack and wife Julie, Nicholas Berry and wife Blakely, Spencer Berry and wife Blair, and Alexandra Ladner and husband Grant. Thirteen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Dwane Minor, two sisters, Mary Beth Claybaker, and Jane Sykes.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00PM, Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at the Cushing First Baptist Church with interment to follow at Fairlawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Matherly-Davis Funeral Home.
